Modern Practice in Stress & Vibration Analysis, 6th International Conference by Salim Belouettar — last modified 2006-10-17 10:29
6th International Conference on Modern Practice in Stress and Vibration Analysis 5 to 7 September 2006 University of Bath Aims and Scope The Conference is the sixth in an international series organised by the Stress and Vibration Group of the UK’s Institute of Physics. Starting in Liverpool in 1992 and held every three years, the series is well-established for the presentation of research findings in stress analysis and vibration dynamics. The 2006 Conference will cover all aspects of stress and vibration analysis, with the intention of providing directed focus on the state-of-the-art in theoretical and experimental methodology. The aim of the conference is to bring together physicists, mathematicians, materials scientists and engineers from academia and industry, and to provide a platform for the presentation of creative and novel research findings. The associated discussion will facilitate interchange of ideas and provide guidance for future research direction.

7th International Conference on Sandwich Structures by Salim Belouettar — last modified 2006-10-17 10:30
Welcome General Information Motivation Conference Topics Important Dates Further Information Conference Program Conference Proceedings Organisation Registration Venue Information Social Program This conference is endorsed by the European Society for Composite Materials General Information Welcome to the ICSS-7 - Motivation and objectives Sandwich structures represent a special form of a laminated composite material or structural elements, where a relatively thick, lightweight and compliant core material separates thin stiff and strong face sheets. The faces are usually made of laminated polymeric based composite materials, and typically the core can be a honeycomb type material, a polymeric foam or balsa wood. The faces and the core are joined by adhesive bonding, which ensures the load transfer between the sandwich constituent parts. The result is a special laminate with very high bending stiffness and strength to weight ratios. Sandwich structures are being used successfully for a variety of applications such as spacecraft, aircraft, train and car structures, wind turbine blades, boat/ship superstructures, boat/ship hulls and many others
Course on Viscoelesticity by H.Hilton, Week 22 by Salim Belouettar — last modified 2006-10-17 10:54
The instructor is Prof. H.HILTON from University of Illinois. The detailed schedule of this course is not fixed yet, but it should be two half days, likely on May 31 and June 1. I would be happy to hear if there is some interest within CASSEM to attend this course. Another option is that some of you volunteer to give more lectures on this subject on the same occasion; we could then build a course more substantial. I look forward to hearing from you about this. Kind Regards, André
